What You Need: |

2 ounces dark rum
1 ounce Triple Sec or other orange-flavored liqueur
¼ cup strained fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon orgeat (almond-flavored syrup)
1 cup crushed or finely cracked ice
GARNISH
1maraschino cherry
1 fresh pineapple stick, about ½ inch wide and 2 to 3 inches long
Fresh mint sprig

How To Cook: |

|
1. Combine the rum, orange liqueur, lime juice and orgeat in a mixing glass, and place a bar shaker on top of the glass.
|
2. Grasping the glass and shaker firmly together with both hands, shake them vigorously 5 or 6 times.
|
3. Place the ice in a chilled 14- to 15-ounce double old-fashioned glass.
|
4. Remove the shaker and pour the mai tai into the glass.
|
5. Garnish the top with the cherry, pineapple and mint and serve at once.
