Whiskey Sour
What You Need:
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 3 ounces blended whiskey
  • 1 teaspoon superfine sugar
  • 3 to 4 ice cubes
  • 1 maraschino cherry
  • 1 slice orange
  • A 4-ounce Delmonico or whiskey sour glass, chilled

  • How To Cook:
    1. Combine the lemon juice, whiskey and sugar in a mixing glass, and stir with a bar spoon to dissolve the sugar. Add the ice cubes.

    2. Place a shaker on top of the mixing glass and, grasping them firmly togetherwith both hands, shake vigorously.

    3. Place the cherry and the orange slice in the chilled glass.

    4. Remove the shaker, place a strainer on top of the mixing glass, and pour into the chilled glass.

    5. There are numerous variations of the whiskey sour, all made in precisely the same way.

    6. Brandy, apricot brandy, Scotch, bourbon, applejack, rum or gin may be substituted for the blended whiskey.
