What You Need: |
Approximately 1 cup of fruits of the season: peeled orange and/or grapefruit sections, lemon slices, hulled strawberries, peach slices, cucumber peel
4 ounces brandy
4 ounces Cointreau
4 ounces Grand Marnier
12 to 16 ice cubes or a block of ice
1 bottle imported Sauternes
6 ounces cold Perrier water or club soda
A 1˝-to 2-quart pitcher or punch bowl
4 wineglasses or punch cups, chilled

How To Cook: |
1. Place the fruits of your choice in the pitcher or bowl first, then add the brandy, Cointreau and Grand Marnier.
2. Place the pitcher or bowl in the refrigerator (or freezer) for at least 1 hour (˝ hour if you use the freezer).
3. Remove and fill with ice cubes. A solid block of ice that fits the pitcher or bowl is even better, since it will not melt as quickly and dilute the drink.
4. Pour in the Sauternes and sparkling water, stir briefly, and serve in chilled wine glasses or punch cups.
