Spare Ribs
What You Need:
  • 4 pounds spare ribs
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 stalks scallions
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ cup cornstarch

  • How To Cook:
    1. Boil spare ribs with salt for approximately 1½ - 2 hours or until tender.

    2. Cool and cut in single ribs (or remain in rack).

    3. Combine sugar, scallions, soy sauce, ketchup and garlic for marinade. Allow ribs to marinate for 2-3 hours.

    4. Remove ribs and place in a baking pan. Add water and cornstarch to marinade and boil until thickened.

    5. Brush ribs with marinade and place in oven at 350°F / 180°FC. Brush continuously until ribs are golden brown.

    6. Pour balance of marinade over ribs and bake for another five minutes.
