What You Need: |

1 pound ground beef
½ cup minced onion
1 large clove garlic, minced
1 can (10¾ ounces) condensed tomato soup
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons fine dry bread crumbs
1 package (10 ounces) frozen whole okra, cooked and drained
Butter
Lemon slices (for garnish)

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Brown beef in a skillet; add onion and garlic and cook until tender (use shortening if necessary), stirring to separate meat.
|
2. Pour off fat. Add soup, pepper, egg and bread crumbs; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
|
3. Arrange okra around buttered 1-quart casserole with tips toward center and ends along the outside; spoon soup mixture over okra.
|
4. Bake in preheated 375°F oven 30 minutes, or until set; let stand 10 minutes.
|
5. Invert on serving platter; garnish with lemon slices.
