Polynesian - Style Broccoli
What You Need:
  • 1 bunch broccoli (about 1½ pounds)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • How To Cook:
    1. Wash and drain the broccoli. Cut the stems from the florets. Peel the stems and cut into ¼ inch slices.

    2. Put the stems, butter and garlic in a covered casserole and cook in the microwave oven, stirring several times, just until the stems become bright green.

    3. Cut the florets into ½ inch slices. Add to the casserole and continue cooking, covered, in the microwave, stirring from time to time, until the florets are bright green and just starting to get tender. Stir in the salt. Serve.

    NOTE:
Try other vegetables done in this manner. Some good choices would be asparagus, green beans, snow peas, and cabbage.

    To Serve: 6
