Black Beans And Rice
(Moros Y Cristjanos)
The name for this dish in Spanish, Moros y Cristjanos, refers to the terrible battles in Spain between the Moors and the Christians, the battle between the blacks and the whites. Thus this blend of black beans and white rice is seen on every Cuban table, and is a reminder of the Spanish influence in Cuban history.

What You Need:
  • 2 cups fresh-cooked long-grain rice (1 cup dry rice)
  • 1 cup cooked Cuban Black Beans

  • How To Cook:
    1. Drain the cooked black beans for just a moment in a colander.

    2. Combine with fresh-cooked rice.

    3. Stir until evenly incorporated.

    To Serve: 3 - 4
