What You Need: |

1 cup dried block-sued peas
1 ½ cups boiling water
1 teaspoon salt
¼ pound ground beef
½ medium onion, chopped
½ cup barbecue sauce - commercial or home prepared
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
3 tablespoons sugar

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Place peas in Dutch oven and cook in boiling water with salt until barely tender; add more water if necessary.
|
2. Drain off half the liquid.
|
3. Brown beef and onion; add to peas.
|
4. Blend in barbecue sauce, mustard, and sugar.
|
5. Bake at 200°F for 1 to 1½ hours.
