Bread Pudding
What You Need:
  • 10 slices stale homemade bread
  • 4 to 5 cups water (approx.)
  • 4 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1˝ cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • teaspoons vanilla
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • ˝ cup raisins

  • How To Cook:
    1. Soak bread in just enough water to soften bread.

    2. Let stand until soft; drain.

    3. Using hands squeeze water out of bread; mix thoroughly.

    4. In a small bowl, mix together butter or margarine, sugar, egg, vanilla and milk; cream together until blended.

    5. Combine the 2 mixtures and add raisins.

    6. Turn into a 7˝ x 11˝ x 2˝ inch baking pan.

    7. Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes at 350°F or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

    8. This can be eaten plain or with a mound of whipped cream or whipped topping mix.

    To Serve: 12 - 15
