Bacon And Apple

What You Need: |

|
¾ pound dried apples
1¼ pound lean bacon
1½ oz fresh butter
1½ pound diced potatoes
1 tablespoon sugar
½ pound smoked sausages

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Soak the apples in cold water for 6 - 8 hours beforehand to let them swell.
|
2. Melt the butter and sugar in a saucepan, add the soaked apples and the bacon and moisten with a little water, then cook for about 1 hour.
|
3. Mix in the diced potatoes and the sausages and cook for another 25 minutes; add salt if necessary.
|
4. Cut up the bacon and dish it up on top of the apples.
