Boil Fish
What You Need:
  • 2 pounds grouper, or other whitefish
  • 2 cups water
  • 6 potatoes, quartered
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hot pepper to taste, if desired

  • How To Cook:
    1. Cut fish into serving size portions.

    2. Bring water to a boil in saucepan and add all ingredients.

    3. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.

    4. Adjust seasoning and add more water if necessary.

    5. Cook over medium heat an additional 10 minutes or until potatoes are cooked through.

    6. Serve with grits and fresh Johnny Cake or Johnny Cake with Cornmeal.
