Creole Sauce - The Trinity
What You Need:
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, cored, seeded and chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1 16-ounce can whole stewed tomatoes
  • ˝ teaspoon thyme, crumbled
  • Pinch of ground hot red pepper

  • How To Cook:
    1. Heat oil in medium size saucepan over medium heat.

    2. Add green onions, green peppers and celery. Saute 5 minutes or until softened.

    3. Add garlic. Saute 1 minute.

    4. Add tomatoes with their liquid, thyme and red pepper.

    5. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.

    6. Serve hot over vegetables, fish or broiled hamburgers.

    To Make: 2 cups
