French Beans In Tomato Sauce
What You Need:
  • 1 large onion
  • A little oil for frying
  • Leftovers of meat
  • 1 pound French beans
  • 1 pound tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper

  • How To Cook:
    1. Chop the onion, heat the oil in a saucepan and brown the onion in it.

    2. Add the meat, cut into small pieces, and let it brown.

    3. Meanwhile prepare the French beans by slicing them and removing the strings; put into the saucepan.

    4. Peel and quarter the tomatoes, add to the beans and season well.

    5. Put on the lid and stew gently on top of the stove or in a moderate oven (350°F) for several hours.

    6. Serve the beans in their own liquor as an accompanying vegetable or with pilaf Egyptian.

    NOTE:
        Peas and marrows may also be cooked in this way.
