Baked Pudding
What You Need:
  • 3 oz fat
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ pound flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • About ¼ pint milk
  • 3-4 oz dried fruit - currants, sultanas, raisins and peel

  • How To Cook:
    1. Cream the fat and sugar together, add the egg (unbeaten), and then beat all together.

    2. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt and fold into the mixture.

    3. Add just sufficient milk to make a soft heavily dropping batter; stir in the dried fruits.

    4. Put the mixture into a greased dish or tin and bake in a moderate oven (375°F) for 20-30 minutes.

    NOTE:
This pudding is usually served hot, with ice cream.
