What You Need: |

6 oz brown sugar
1½ oz chopped walnuts
2 well-beaten eggs
20 chopped red Maraschino cherries
12 oz chopped dates
¼ teaspoon salt
1 oz rice crispy
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1½ oz coconut

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Beat the sugar and eggs together; add the chopped dates.
|
2. Place the mixture in a slightly greased frying pan and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring constantly.
|
3. Remove the mixture from the heat; add the salt, vanilla, chopped nuts, cherries and cereal and mix thoroughly.
|
4. Cool the mixture until lukewarm, shape into balls and then roll each in coconut.
|
