Walnut Pie
What You Need:
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons soft butter
  • 4 oz Demerara sugar (brown)
  • ˝ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 6 oz molasses or maple syrup
  • 4 oz halved walnuts
  • 7 - 8 inch raw pastry shell

  • How To Cook:
    1. Beat the eggs lightly.

    2. Add the sugar, molasses, butter and vanilla, blend well, and then stir in the walnuts.

    3. Pour into the pastry case and bake in a moderately hot oven (425°F) for 10 minutes; reduce to moderate (350°F) and bake for a further 30 minutes.

    4. Serve cold or slightly warm.

    5. Hand whipped cream separately

    TIP:
        As an alternative to molasses or maple syrup, use either golden syrup, black treacle or half and half.
