Doncaster Butterscotch
What You Need:
  • 1 pound brown sugar
  • 6 oz butter
  • ˝ pint milk
  • Cream of tartar

  • How To Cook:
    1. Melt the sugar over a low heat in the milk.

    2. Add the butter and a pinch of cream of tartar, and boil till a little of the mixture will harden when dropped from a spoon into cold water about 40 minutes.

    3. Pour the mixture in a thin layer into greased tins and leave to set.
