Beef In Ginger Sauce
What You Need:
  • 2 pound shoulder of beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 oz fat bacon
  • 2 oz dripping
  • Salt
  • 2 slices of black bread
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger

  • How To Cook:
    1. Wash the meat, beat well and lard with strips of bacon, then sprinkle with the .salt and ginger.

    2. Fry the onion in the dripping, add the meat and quickly fry all over.

    3. Now add a little water and the dry bread, which will break up in the sauce and thus thicken it; simmer until the meat is tender.

    4. Sieve the sauce and pour over the meat. Serve with dumplings or boiled rice.

    To Serve: 4 - 6
