What You Need: |

8 thin slices of stale bread (crusts removed)
4 slices of ham (about ˝ oz each)
4 slices (about ˝ oz each) of Gouda or Edam cheese
Butter, margarine or dripping for frying

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. The bread, cheese and ham should be cut to the same size.
|
2. Put a slice of cheese and a slice of ham between each pair of bread slices, spread the sandwiches on the outside with fat, and fry them golden-brown and crisp.
|
3. They may be served as a savoury at lunch or supper, or as an entree, after the first course of a main meal.
