1. Mince the meats three times, and then knead with the breadcrumbs, oatmeal, cream, eggs and seasonings.

2. Shape the mixture like a thick sausage, place thin slices of fat bacon over it, or brush it with oil, pour the milk over and bake for about 30 minutes in a moderately hot oven (400°F).

3. Thicken the gravy with the flour, and season with salt, pepper and ketchup.

4. Serve with sweet browned potatoes and raw vegetable salad.
