Savoury Fish Stew
(Brodet Od Morskih Riba)
What You Need:
  • 2 pound fish (can be anyone or a combination of tuna, eel, mackerel, or red mullet)
  • Chopped parsley
  • 1 oz seasoned flour
  • ¼ pint vinegar
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 teaspoons concentrated tomato puree or 1 tin tomato juice
  • 2 - 3 onions, sliced
  • 1 clove of garlic

  • How To Cook:
    1. Prepare the fish and cut into 2-inch squares, coat with seasoned flour and fry in hot olive oil, then remove.

    2. Fry the onions until yellow and add the chopped garlic and parsley and the fish.

    3. Pour over the vinegar, tomato puree and sufficient water to cover, bring to the boil and simmer very gently for ½ hour, taking care not to break the fish.

    4. Serve hot with noodles or macaroni.
