Ambrosia Cake

What You Need: |

2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
4 oz caster sugar
4 oz flour
5 oz butter
1 teaspoon baking powder
Orange-flavored icing
2 eggs
Candied orange peel

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Grease a sandwich tin and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
|
2. Sieve the flour and baking powder and whisk the eggs and sugar together until thick.
|
3. Blend the egg mixture gradually into the flour and melted butter, then put in the tin and bake for ˝ hour in a moderate oven (350°F).
|
4. Turn out and cool.
|
5. Ice, then decorate with peel or chopped almonds.
