Thousand Leaves Torte

What You Need: |

|
8 oz flour
Cream
8 oz butter or margarine
Glace icing
Browned chopped almonds
Iced water
Apple pulp
Glace cherries, etc.

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Sieve the flour and cut in the fat, using a knife.
|
2. Use iced water to mix and work the mixture with a wooden spoon until it is smooth; cover and chill.
|
3. Divide in 6 - 7 portions, roll out very thinly on waxed paper, cut into rounds and prick all over.
|
4. Put on to a baking tin, brush over with iced water and bake in a hot oven (450°F) for 6 - 8 minutes.
|
5. Keep on the waxed paper until cold.
|
6. Spread alternate pastry rounds with apple pulp and cream, building them up like a layer cake, ice top and decorate with almonds, glace cherries and angelica.
