What You Need:
(To serve 4)

Approximately 1 cup of fruits of the season: peeled orange and/or grapefruit sections, lemon slices, hulled strawberries, peach slices, cucumber peel
4 ounces blackberry brandy
4 ounces maraschino liqueur
4 ounces curacao
12 to 16 ice cubes or a block of ice
1 bottle claret (Bordeaux)
6 ounces cold Perrier water or club soda
A 1½-to 2-quart pitcher or punch bowl
4 wine glasses or punch cups, chilled

How To Cook: |

|
1. Place the fruits of your choice in the pitcher or bowl first, then add the blackberry brandy, maraschino liqueur and curacao.
|
2. Place the vessel in the refrigerator (or freezer) for at least 1 hour (½ hour if you use the freezer).
|
3. Remove and fill with ice cubes. A solid block of ice cut to fit the pitcher or bowl is even better, since it will not melt as quickly and dilute the drink.
|
4. Pour in the claret and sparkling water, stir briefly, and serve in chilled wine glasses or punch cups.
