What You Need:            (To make 1 cocktail)

  • 3 ounces bourbon or blended whiskey
  • ½ teaspoon superfine sugar
  • 1 ice cube
  • 1 strip lemon peel
  • 5 drops Peychaud bitters, or substitute Angostura bitters
  • 3 drops Ojen (Spanish absinthe), or substitute Pernod
  • An old-fashioned glass

  • How To Cook:
    1. Place the whiskey and sugar in an old-fashioned glass and stir with a bar spoon to dissolve the sugar.

    2. Add the ice cube and lemon peel, and top with the bitters and absinthe or Pernod. Stir briefly.
