What You Need:
(To make 1 cocktail)

1 whole egg
2½ ounces medium sherry
1 teaspoon superfine sugar
1½ ounces brandy
3 to 4 ice cubes
Ground nutmeg
A 6-ounce wine or whiskey sour glass, chilled

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Combine the egg, sherry, sugar, brandy and ice cubes in a mixing glass.
|
2. Place a shaker on top of the glass and, grasping them together firmly with both hands, shake vigorously 7 or 8 times.
|
3. Remove the shaker, place a strainer on top of the mixing glass, and pourinto a 6-ounce glass.
|
4. Sprinkle the top with a dash of nutmeg. (The coffee cocktail is simply a variation of the sherry flip.)
