A 10-ounce package frozen sliced sweetened strawberries, thoroughly defrosted, and their syrup
1½ cups sour cream
A pinch of salt
Confectioners' sugar (optional)

1. Place the strawberries and their syrup in a bowl and crush the berries slightly with the back of a large spoon.
|
5. Add the sour cream and salt, and stir until the ingredients are thoroughly blended. Taste for sweetness and add up to 1 tablespoon of confectioners' sugar if desired.

5. Cover with foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate the dressing for at least 1 hour before serving. Strawberry-and-sour-cream dressing may accompany any fruit salad.
