2 pounds dried salt cod
1½ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
Dash of pepper
1 teaspoon double-acting baking powder
Water
Vegetable oil for frying
Garlic Sauce

How To Cook: |

|
1. Soak codfish in cold water for six hours, changing water several times.
|
2. Drain cod and cut into 8 to 10 pieces.
|
3. Combine flour, salt, pepper, and baking powder with enough water to make a batter the consistency of a thin white sauce.
|
4. Dip pieces of cod in batter and fry in 1 inch hot oil until golden brown.
|
5. Drain on absorbent paper and serve with Garlic Sauce.
