What You Need:            (To Serve: 4 to 6)

  • ½ cup minced onion
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Dash of ground cloves or allspice
  • ½ cup dry red wine
  • 1 pound cooked macaroni
  • Grated kefalotiri cheese

  • How To Cook:
    1. Saute onion and garlic in butter. Add meat and brown, seasoning with salt and pepper.

    2. Blend tomato sauce and water, add to mixture, and bring to a boil. Add spices and simmer for 45 minutes.

    3. Add wine and simmer for 15 minutes. Serve over macaroni, with grated kefalotiri cheese.
