This is close to a hot beef salad. The Thais have the most amazing ability to put together herbs and spices in blends that no one else seems to have thought of.

What You Need:
(To Serve: 4)

4 tablespoons peanut oil
3 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
3 jalapeno peppers, seeded and sliced
1 pound beef flank steak, thinly sliced across the grain
4 tablespoons Thai fish sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1¼ teaspoon ground white pepper
½ cup coarsely chopped fresh basil leaves

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Heat a wok and add the oil and garlic.
|
2. Chow or stir for just a moment and then add the peppers and meat.
|
3. Chow again for just a couple of minutes so that the meat sears to medium rare, just a bit pink inside.

4. Quickly add the remaining ingredients and toss for a moment.
