½ cup Spiced Butter
½ cup peeled and finely chopped yellow onions
3 tablespoons cored, seeded, and finely chopped green bell peppers
½ teaspoon peeled and finely chopped garlic
2 tablespoons seeded and finely chopped fresh hot green jalapeno peppers
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
½ teaspoon freshly ground cardamom seeds
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
4 teaspoons Berbere Sauce
2 teaspoons salt
2 pounds lean beef sirloin, freshly ground very coarse in your meat grinder

How To Cook: |

|
1. Heat a 10-inch frying pan and add the butter.
|
2. Saute the onions, green bell peppers, garlic, jalapenos, cayenne, ginger, and cardamom for about 2 minutes, and then remove the mixture to a bowl. Allow to cool a bit.
|
3. Add the lemon juice, Berbere Sauce, and salt to the cooled vegetable mixture.
|
4. Mix the ground meat and the spiced vegetable mixture. Mound on a platter or on Injera Bread and serve.
