What You Need:            (To Serve: 4)

  • 2 pounds steak
  • ¼ pound margarine
  • 1 dessertspoon sugar
  • 1 cup beef stock (tin of beef bouillon or consomme)
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • Salt, pepper; nutmeg and ginger to taste
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram
  • Chopped tomatoes, optional

  • How To Cook:
    1. Cut steaks into cubes and marinate for 2 hours in sugar, vinegar, seasoning and herbs.

    2. Melt margarine and brown beef cubes. Moisten with some of the marinade.

    3. Place meat in a casserole with 1 cup of beef stock.

    4. Cover and bake in a 350°F oven until tender.

    5. Skim off fat and odd a few chopped tomatoes if desired.
