What You Need:

  • 8 large cooked and peeled beets
  • 1 pound soup meat cut into cubes
  • 3 diced tomatoes
  • 2 quarts water
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • Salt, pepper
  • Sour cream

  • How To Cook:
    1. Combine meat, tomatoes and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Skim and cook for about an hour.

    2. Add the cabbage, salt and pepper. Cook for 30 minutes.

    3. Grate the beetroots and add to the soup with salt and pepper. Cook for 15 minutes.

    4. Serve very hot, with a spoonful of sour cream and a few pieces of the meat in each soup bowl.
