What You Need:

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 cups flour
  • Mixed spices
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 2 cups peanuts (crushed)
  • 1 pound raisins
  • ½ cup rum
  • Pinch of soda

  • How To Cook:
    1. Cream butter, sugar and eggs.

    2. Mix flour, baking powder, salt and spices. Add this to butter mixture and blend.

    3. Add milk, soda and molasses, and add lastly crushed nuts, raisins and rum.

    4. Bake in a loaf tin 300°F for 2 hours.
