How To Cook: |
1. Beat the sugar and eggs together until thick and pale in color.
2. Crush the aniseed, put through a fine sieve and add.
3. Fold in the other ingredients and work lightly into soft dough.
4. Form into little rolls about the thickness of a finger and 3 inches long; pinch the ends together and curve round, then put on to a greased baking tray. (Alternatively, pipe the dough on to the tray to form horseshoes.)
5. Cut 2 or 3 notches on each horseshoe, and then bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 10 - I2 minutes.
6. The tops should remain white, while the base is just colored.
