How To Cook: |

1. Make a simple stuffing with breadcrumbs, chopped onion and chopped parsley.

2. Salt and pepper some chunky oblongs of good stewing steak and fry lightly in oil.
|
3. Meanwhile cut up some small pieces of bacon.
|
4. Place each piece of steak in a casserole, on end, flanked by a mound of the breadcrumb mixture and then some chopped bacon; they should be packed fairly closely together.
|
5. Cover with gravy and cook in a moderate oven (350°F) for 1½ hours.
