4 thin slices bacon, chopped
1 medium-sized onion, peeled and chopped
1 medium-sized green pepper, cleaned and chopped
About 3 tablespoons salad oil
1 pound frankfurters cut into 1-inch slices
1 can (1 pound) sauerkraut, drained
3 cups cold, cooked macaroni
¼ cup cider vinegar
3 tablespoons minced dill pickle
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt, pepper to taste

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Fry bacon in a large skillet until crisp and fat is rendered.
|
2. Remove bacon and drain.
|
3. Add onion and green pepper to bacon fat; saute until tender.
|
4. Add 1 tablespoon oil and frankfurters; fry 5 minutes, turning once or twice.
|
5. Add sauerkraut and cooked macaroni; saute until heated, 1 or 2 minutes.
|
6. Add remaining oil, as much as desired, and remaining ingredients.
|
7. Leave on the stove long enough to blend flavors, about 5 minutes.
|
8. Remove from heat and serve hot.
