What You Need:

  • 8 oz sugar
  • 3 oz desiccated coconut
  • 4 oz rolled oats
  • 1 oz chopped walnuts
  • A pinch of salt
  • 4 oz butter
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 3 oz plain flour

  • How To Cook:
    1. Melt the butter and syrup in a saucepan and add the soda dissolved in the water.

    2. Mix all the other ingredients in a bowl, add the liquids and mix together.

    3. Put on a greased tray in dessertspoonfuls, leaving room for them to spread.

    4. Cook for 15-20 minutes in a moderate oven (350°F).
