4¾ oz cornmeal
1 egg
4 oz flour
1½ gills (8 oz.) milk
2 oz granulated sugar
½ teaspoon salt
2 oz butter
2 teaspoons baking powder

How To Cook: |

|
1. Sieve the dry ingredients together into a bowl.
|
2. Add the egg, milk and butter and beat with the beaten egg until smooth-about 1 minute. Do not overbeat.

3. Bake in a greased 8-inch square pan or in a greased bun tray in a moderately hot oven (425°F) for 25 minutes.
|
4. Serve warm with butter or covered with creamed chicken, fish or meat.
