What You Need:

1 pound beef or rump steak
1 tablespoon mushroom ketchup
1 onion
2 tablespoons breadcrumbs or 2 tablespoons oatmeal
Dripping
Salt and pepper
Mashed potatoes
A pinch of grated nutmeg
Slices of hard-boiled eggs
Stock
Toast or fried croutons

How To Cook: |

|
1. Mince the meat.
|
2. Fry the finely chopped onion in a little dripping, and then add the minced meat, season with salt and pepper.
|
3. Add a pinch of nutmeg, moisten with about 1 cup of stock, and simmer for 1 - 1½ hours, then add the ketchup and the breadcrumbs or oatmeal, mix well and cook for 5-10 minutes.

4. Put on a hot dish, surround with a border of mashed potatoes, and garnish with sliced hard-boiled egg and the croutons.
