What You Need:            (To Serve: 4 - 6)

  • 8 oz pig's head (fresh)
  • A handful of dried mushrooms
  • 3 pints water
  • Salt
  • 1 oz groats
  • 2 oz root vegetables
  • A drop of meat extract

  • How To Cook:
    1. Wash the meat and boil in salted water together with the vegetables and mushrooms until soft.

    2. Take out the meat, remove from bone and cut into small pieces.

    3. Add the groats and meat extract and cook for a few minutes longer.

    4. Serve with a slice of bread.
