2 pints water
1 - 2 oz cooking fat or lard
Salt
1 pound buckwheat meal
1 cup cream or milk

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Bring the water to the boil, add some salt, put in all the meal at once and stir to a smooth dough.
|
2. Dip a teaspoon in hot fat, form small balls of the mixture, place these in a baking tin and put some lard and a little salt over them and then a very little hot cream or milk.
|
3. Bake gently in a slow oven (300°F) until risen and brown.
|
4. Serve hot or cold.
