2 pound sauerkraut
4 rashers of gammon or bacon
½ pint boiling water
Salt
Potato puree
1½ oz butter

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Wash the sauerkraut and put it into the boiling salted water; simmer gently until all the liquor has evaporated.
|
2. Melt the butter in a casserole, add the sauerkraut and mix well.
|
3. Serve with grilled gammon, bacon or boiled gammon, with a border of potato puree, which may be piped in a decorative pattern.
