What You Need:

  • Fish (haddock, trout, carp)
  • Grated cheese

    SAUCE
  • ¼ oz butter
  • 1 oz chopped onion
  • ½ pound tomatoes
  • 1 wineglassful of white wine or cider

  • How To Cook:
    1. Put slices of any kind of fish into an earthenware dish.

    2. When the sauce is ready, pour over, sprinkle with grated cheese and bake in a moderately hot oven (400°F) for 20 minutes.

    PREPARE THE SAUCE IN THE FOLLOWING WAY:
    1. Melt butter in a frying pan and in it saute finely chopped onion and peeled and sliced tomatoes.

    2. When the onions and tomatoes are partly cooked, pour over them white wine or cider and leave to simmer until the sauce thickens.
