Herrings
2 oz sugar
2 tablespoons water
¼ pint vinegar
1 tablespoon salad oil
Pepper to taste

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Fry the herrings and arrange in a deep dish.
|
2. Make a dressing by boiling sugar and water together, allowing it to cool, then adding vinegar, salad oil and pepper to taste.
|
3. Cut an onion into rings or chop it, place on top of the herrings and pour dressing over.
|
4. Serve cold.
