What You Need:

  • ¾ cup packaged dried breadcrumbs
  • 2 tins tart red-stoned cherries, well drained
  • ¾ cup ground almonds
  • ½ teaspoon almond essence
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • Red coloring

  • How To Cook:
    1. Combine breadcrumbs, almonds and sugar; sprinkle over the half, of crisp strudel dough nearest you.

    2. Toss cherries with almond essence and enough red color to brighten cherries; spoon them over crumb mixture.

    3. Proceed with rolling up strudel.
