2 pound potatoes
2 oz sugar
2 oz butter or lard

1. Wash, boil and peel potatoes; if large, cut each into 4 - 8 equal-sized pieces.

2. Melt sugar, butter or lard and heat until lightly browned.

3. Rinse the potatoes in cold water, put into the sugar and stir well until they are evenly golden.
